How Pro Zion works with different organisations in the UK
Pro Zion is the Progressive Zionist organisation for all Progressive Jews
in the UK. To that end Pro Zion is a partner organisation between the Movement
for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism, the two Progressive Synagogue bodies
in the UK. Rabbis Tony Bayfield and Danny Rich, the two respective heads
of the Synagogue bodies hold ex-officio positions on the Pro Zion Executive.
In order that we reach all Progressive Jews, Pro Zion aims to work closely
with the Shalichim (Israeli Emmisaries) of the two movements as well as
working with Synagogue Israel Committees, arranging talks, and promoting
engagement with Israel.
Pro Zion is also an affiliate of the Zionist
Federation of Great Britain and Ireland. An active voice in the Zionist
Federation, Pro Zion boasts 16 members on the ZF´s executive, including
the current vice-chair. Every four years Pro Zion fights an election campaign
within the Zionist Federation for seats at the World Zionist Congress.
